FAISALABAD: Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police, Javed Iqbal, on Wednesday said two more suspects in the Faisalabad blast have been arrested.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, the IG said the suspects were arrested on a tip-off from Usman, another key suspect who was arrested on Tuesday.

Iqbal said the Punjabi Taliban had nothing to do with the blast in Faisalabad. He blamed a banned outfit for the bombing.

The IG said the terrorists wanted to hit the building of an intelligence agency, but failed because of the tight security there.

Iqbal claimed that security had been beefed-up across the province.

Meanwhile, markets have been closed in Faisalabad to mourn the victims of Tuesday’s bombing.

On Tuesday, 25 people were killed and 130 others wounded when a car bomb exploded at a CNG station situated in front of an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)  office in Faisalabad
