Pakistan Intelligence Agencies rule out any link with Lahore killing incident involving US diplomat Raymond Allen Davis

ISLAMABAD: An intelligence official has strongly condemned the baseless and malicious report published in a section of the press which alleged that the two motorcyclists shot by Raymond Davis in Lahore were intelligence operatives.

The report had claimed that the death of intelligence personnel was the reason behind the government’s reluctance to free Davis and that it was in retaliation against the summoning of a top ISI official by a US court.

The intelligence official regretted that such speculative reporting appearing on the front page of a major new-spaper on such a sensitive matter, which was subjudice and detrimental to the security interests of Pakistan, was published without any confirmation from the concerned quarters.

The official vehemently denied that there was any link whatsoever between the US court’s summon and the Lahore incident. The intelligence agency reserves the right to initiate legal action against the paper, said the official.

NOTE: Earlier many newspapers and websites had reported that a senior Pakistan government officer had confirmed that the two youths killed by Raymond Davis were Pakistani intelligence operatives who had unearthed Raymond's black ops in Pakistan.
